Encompassing the essence of Roots-Rock, and Blues, Reckless and Blue is 5-piece blues band that's been playing music in the Denver scene since 2018
Reckless and Blue released its first album, CAN’T GIVE ME THE BLUES, on December 15, 2021. This album showcases a fresh and modern take on the blues with its original music. Songs from this album are currently being played on radio stations; KCOS Digital Media (Colorado), Radio WigWam (England), Radio New Wheels (Netherlands), Blues Roots Radio (U.S.), KZFR )Chico California) and more.
Reckless and Blue also plays select covers of classic and contemporary blues from Muddy Waters to Chris “Kingfish” Ingram. They play short showcases highlighting their original music or up to four, full sets of music geared to get feet tapping and people dancing.
George has been playing guitar and singing since the 1970’s. After High School he studied classical guitar at Metropolitan Community College in Denver. He started playing in cover and original bands in the Denver area in the 80’s. He began writing and recording while in the band, Reckless Abandon.

George left Colorado in 1987 and lived in California, Arizona and Florida, continuing to write and perform music. George returned to Colorado in December of 2017 and began working on the creation of his current band, Reckless and Blue. With goals of recording and performing, George gathered seasoned musicians to the cause. Reckless and Blue released its first album in December of 2021, Titled, “Can’t Give me the Blues.” and are currently working their second. They are also playing clubs and events throughout the Denver area.
Steve Gaskin has been playing drums and percussion since 1973 mostly around the Denver, Colorado area. Steve’s experience includes concerts, club dates, supper clubs, showcase events, television, corporate events, weddings, festivals, commercial jingles, album projects, musicals, and educational presentations.

His musical styles include jazz, blues, rock, pop, folk, lounge, world music, big band, church worship, and orchestral. Some of the artists Steve has worked with include Reckless and Blue, Billy Sprague, James Van Buren, Billy Tolles, Joe Keel, Parameters, Barry Shapiro, Marguerite Juenemann, Kellis Etheridge, Hazel Miller, Zebra Junction, Red Feather Band, Rob Mullins, many more.
Dutch has been playing bass since 1972. He grew up in a talented gospel musical family where his mom was the pianist and singer for the National Baptist convention during the 60’s. Dutch studied classical bass at the conservatory of music in Kansas City. He has had the opportunity to play along side of R&B and Jazz guitarist Norman Bro
Dutch has been playing bass since 1972. He grew up in a talented gospel musical family where his mom was the pianist and singer for the National Baptist convention during the 60’s. Dutch studied classical bass at the conservatory of music in Kansas City. He has had the opportunity to play along side of R&B and Jazz guitarist Norman Brown while attending school in Kansas City, Ks. Dutch has played in different bands over his life to include a blues band called Alley Ride during the 90’s in Denver. He did studio recordings as well as played in multiple Broadway produced musicals as a bassist. He enjoys playing all styles of music to include, R&B, Rock, and Funk. He continues to play bass for his church since 1990. He still teaches private bass lessons from beginner to advanced based on request.
Allen started classical piano lessons at 11, and studied music composition, piano performance, and jazz the University of Texas in Austin. He played in numerous soul, jazz and funk bands while in college including the 2 o’clock and one o’clock bands and toured with a Chicano show band for a year immediately after. He then moved to Hoboke

He then moved to Hoboken and played at CBGB’s with 2 bands; Bansai Kik and the Uptown Atomics, while playing solo gigs for society events. Martha Stewart featured him playing solo piano in her Weddings book. When his two children were school age, he moved to South Jersey and played with Lena Luke Blues band and continued solo piano jobs including a one year residency at Sotto Varallis as house pianist. He has recently retired from a hotel management career and is currently residing in the Denver area and working on blues and classical projects.
